New characters or not, every protagonist under Disney is a white person. While it's nice that we're seeing more diversity, white people are still front and center every time, from protagonist to female lead to writers and directors. That was my larger point on Kennedy playing it safe. Lol, you'll get your wish. There will be a Black Panther Star Wars movie. Maybe Mace. Lol, my wish isn't to get an exception to the rule. My wish is for people of color to regularly get the same respect and representation white people do, in front of and behind the camera. Minorities are on their way to making up half of America. |
