Couple Raiders QB, Jeff George and Jim Plunkett. Both were "meh" until the hit the Silver and Black. plunkett is before my time. george was a high draft pick correct? colts and falcons? don't remember him on the raiders - who was the QB on that Raiders/Bucs Super Bowl? thought that was a former Giants dud that rejuvanated his career too? or am i getting multiple players confused here? ** Edit - think for some odd reason I'm thinking of Rich Gannon........... George was 1st overall. Wasn't much with the Colts and Falcons. He put up numbers but didn't get along with Gruden. Then came Rich Gannon. Plunkett was another #1 overall. Nothing with the Pats, two rings with the Raiders. The Raiders had a way of milking great seasons out of players who were thought to be over the hill. Ted Hendricks, Lyle Alzado, George Blanda, Darryl Lamonica. All of which has fuck all to do with what you're are asking, of course. there has to be failed baseball prospects who caught with other teams. But I can't come up with one right now. The one baseball prospect you were trying to come up with is Mark Appel. #1 overall by Houston, thought to be a sure fire starter in the Aaron Nola mode. Did shit, got traded to the Phils and did worse. Will be the first #1 overall never to make the major without an injury issues. Even Shawn Abner and Bryan Bullington got their cups of coffee.
