I just watched it for the 2nd time after many years.
Really enjoyed it again.
The DVD quality is a bit iffy - typical public domain - but adequate.
All 4 leads are excellent but special mention to Lizabeth Scott.
Might consider it more a melodrama than noir - several aspects reminded me strongly of Some Came Running, another film of a veteran returning reluctantly to his home town.
