1/10!!!!1 No, seriously? I think you've gotta put it in the 8.5 range, innit? It's a four-and-a-quarter-star film (out of five) for me. It was exactly what it should've been and (in a lot of cases) more. Thanos was a brick shithouse and stone cold ass-kicker, and in hindsight I'd be lying if I didn't admit that this is prolly how Fox should've done Apocalypse -- all menacing and huge; that's not to say I've changed my long-held position that Oscar Issac's performance is underrated, but that's neither here nor there. Standout performances from the Guardians, who REALLY greased the skids of what could've been an overlong slog, Thor, and Doctor Strange kept the flick engaging for me. Unlike most I thought the humor worked really well the vast majority of the time. Which brings me to my criticisms, and time was one of them. Someone ( politicidal?) said the film felt overlong, and it didn't necessarily feel that way for me. But: I did leave the cinema wondering whether IW (or "part 1," I guess) will still feel as epic as the first half of a ~5 hour film. Also, as I've still not seen Civil War or Homecoming, this was my first exposure to MCU Peter. Just wasn't crazy about this particular take on the character, although it's not as bad as Garfield in my view. (Innit?) All in all, a fun time.
