Yes, a transformation as a comeuppance, but different in why it happens (accidental) and the outcome (not entirely negative). It's like a combination of the Masks with the Cliff Robertson one involving the dummy.

The bum story is more along the lines of "What have I got to lose? What is the worst thing that could happen?" The it is just a matter of coming up with the worst possible answer. haha
