Your most crushing sports defeat as a fan?

I have a ton of them. Game 6, 1986 WS, the last week of the 2011 baseball season, 2003 ALCS, four, count em four, Super Bowls. But nothing still rankles like 1978. To see the Red Sox blow a 14 game lead, fall three back, then come back and force the playoff. Then to lose to He Who Must Not Be Named. Shit like that hurts more when you are 15, of course.

Fact is, it was Reggie Jackson's HR off Bob Stanley in the 8th that was the difference, not "Mr 40 Home Runs Lifetime" cheap ass dinger. Bob Stanley? Not the same chap who's wild pitch tied up Game 6 in 1986? The WP that put Pumpkinhead Knight in scoring position so an E3would score a run? Can't be. But it is.
