When I first saw at the Cinema it was total rubbish, the action scenes were dull and so much of the dialogue was gibberish, however when watched on DVD it was much better, the action scenes were exciting and the dialogue made more sense - for some reason it played poorly on the big screen.
The FX still hold up fairly well, except for some FX which were dodgy at the time - some FX during the freeway chase for instance.
I do quite like Anthony Zerbe in the film as Councillor Hamann, especially his conversation with Neo, it gives you a bit to think about.
