Yes, it was the extended version, which I had heard was definitive and so much better than the chopped up cut released in the US back in 1984. A stunning achievement.

I found The Great Beauty a little rambling and my attention wavered at times. It soared at times, looked ravishing and I shall probably watch it again some day.
