He's up to .205!!

I was at the game on Friday night (caught my first ever ball at a game, after what is probably 500 games all over the country! That you Brad Boxberger for throwing it to me after striking up a friendly convo!) and Goldy looked absolutely lost. He had a Golden Sombrero against a dominant deGrom and didn't come remotely close to making solid contact. On Saturday, he was able to capitalize on a mistake by mental midget Steven Matz for a HR but still didn't look good. Yesterday, he definitely had better swings and overall just looked more balance at the plate but that's about as positive a thing as I can find to say about him right now.

His struggles date back to last year when he just disappeared in September after a typically awesome year. In September, he slashed a truly putrid .171/.250/.305 and wasn't much better in the NLDS, going 1 for 11 against the Dodgers. At some point, you have to start to wonder whether it's some sort of injury that's nagging him because players as good as he Goldy don't slump this badly for this long, barring some Chuck Knoblauchesque mental vanishing act (which I don't see here).
