And how do you guage? Shawn Michaels in '96 by in ring work was one of the best reigns ever. For character work it was terrible. It was absolutely ridiculous watching an arrogant unlikeable douche acting like a Bret Hart style white meat babyface. While the match quality was high, he made the shows borderline unwatchable with his "Boyhood Dream" schtick, which was exactly why everybody cheered Sid when he punched an old man and knocked Shawn out with a TV Camera to finish it.

As an HBK fan, I can't argue with that. His babyface run stripped away (no pun intended) everything that made him interesting.

I'd say Shawn's best character work was his original DX run.

But returning to the topic at hand, I don't think Charlotte is overrated. However, the WWE is in too much of a hurry to try and establish her as legendary. She built up her rep as being a great competitor in NXT over time.

But honestly, what is so great about her? Like I stated, everything she is, is just handed down to her from her father. Nothing about her is original. I'm not saying she's a bad worker. She's just not the best that the WWE narrative is putting out there and fans are buying. I'm not buying it. She's a decent worker who can botch just as much as any female on the roster but for me to believe she is the best? Then she needs to stand out on some level as herself and not as Ric's daughter. Her best matches came against Sasha, as I feel everyone's has. Which makes me believe that Sasha is the best in ring talent. Charlotte doesn't even hold a candle to Alexa's mic skills and facial expressions and confidence.

So I'm asking, what is so great about Charlotte? Maybe she's the most rounded female on the roster in terms of everything? But that doesn't scream "great" to me in any sort of way.
