A good list. Teleadm and Mattgarth mentioned some films with Audrey Hepburn ... Charade, Funny Face and How to Steal a Million ... that really showcase some of the most beautiful (and popular) sites.
I was in Paris last year with some friends. They stuck with the tourist draws, which we had all seen. I broke from the group, during the day, and walked neighborhoods, where I frequently saw places that looked familiar, from movies I had seen.
I strongly recommend a video series on YouTube, called "Paris Next Stop." You can also find it by a search for "Art and Heart," in the YouTube search box. It's presented by Lisa Pasold, who is a writer and tour guide, from Canada. She has selected 13 "stops" on the Paris Metro, and does a 45 minute walk-around video at each neighborhood. I think the series originally aired on the Travel Channel, with each of the 13 episodes running an hour ... with commercials. YouTube has omitted the commercials (thank you). I still re-watch episodes, from time to time. And, I wish that she, or someone, would do such a series from other popular travel destinations.
