Movies that raised your interest in historical events?

All Quiet on the Western Front (1930) got me very interested in WWI. As a companion piece to that I would recommend a documentary titled The Guns of August (1961). I had already read the book before I saw the film but the book is no spoiler for the film or vice versa and I can recommend both.
