Scherzer becomes the first pitcher to 10 wins, he’s having another absolutely brilliant season, while JD Martinez becomes the first to 20 HR’s as the Sox continue to roll. Scherzer also notched a so-called “immaculate inning” with three strikeouts on 9 pitches in his last start, which is the second time he’s done that. It’s a short list of otherguys who have accomplished that — Koufax, Nolan Ryan and a handful of others. Dude is locked in. The worst thing that could have happened to the Detroit Tigers was Miguel Cabrera winning the Triple Crown. The organization wanted to let Miggy walk and pay the big money to FA Scherzer. But they were afraid of the fan reaction to letting Cabrera walk. So Miggy got the ridiculous extension and Mighty Max rakes his stuff to DC. He is having a Koufaxian season. If the bullpen hadn't choked in LA, he could be 11-1. A treat to watch him pitch.
