That's the thing a lot of fans (and scouts and writers) forget. The step through the minors, from rookie ball to AAA is gradual. The step from AAA to the majors is epic. Going from AA to AAA and going from AAA to the AL is not the same thing. Byron Buxton had all the signs of being a superstar but his defense will never make up for his bat. If you could tell the difference between Mookie Betts and Brandon Wood, you could make a ton of money.
