So there are rumors swirling that the Mets don't want to release Jose Reyes and his vaunted slash line of .141/.208/.197 (ugh!) and summer sloshball quality defense because of his "deep roots" within the organization, and they want to give him a "proper sendoff." FUCK. YOU! That is such a line of horseshit, only the Mets are blind enough to think that anyone believes that bullshit. And you know what, it's so fucking inane and the rumors are so easy to dismiss due to their stupidity.......that I actually believe the Mets are, in fact, taking this position publicly and they do believe that their fans will swallow it. If there's a way to be blinded by all forms of reality and to completely alienate your fanbase at every turn, the Mets will find the way. Anyway, let's assume that this is why they aren't releasing Reyes just yet. It's obviously a line they are feeding to the fans. None of us should believe it. With the news of David Wright resuming baseball activities hitting the wires a few days ago, the idea of Wright and Reyes manning the left side of the infield together again has at least a glimmer of hope. And you know what, when that happens, I bet they can sell an extra 5,000 tickets. That's the Mets in a nutshell; selling out the fucking season by completely wasting a roster spot just so that they can sell an extra 5,000 tickets to a meaningless game in July. Well done, Wilpons, well done. Ugh, I hate baseball. “Deep Roots”? This is the same dude who elected to sit instead of helping his team to preserve his lead in the batting average race, then bolted for another team after. Leave it to the fucking Mets to field an Old Timers squad — they can put David Wright out there with Reyes and make some calls to RA Dickey and Carlos Beltran.
