I admit I did not like Jack McCoy at first. He was a self righteous jerk who needed to be taken down a notch. Over the top who cared about winning more.
And really wished that Lt Van Buren at times would had put him down to earth. If the police were not doing things in his point of view. Wonder why someone did not punch him in the mouth as he crossed way too many lines. Like the time Mike Cutter his new E.A.D.A. when McCoy was promoted was by an inmate.
But then he mellowed out and really except for a few times in the 2000-2010 era there. He got a lot more nicer. Seems like age
