I also wish to add that the mid-race exchange between Messala and the Greek charioteer was originally 'subtitle-ish' - an intertitle imposed on an actual moving scene of charging chariots- but the Warner DVD/BluRay make it a simple intertitle. The only version you can see those scenes is the MGM/UA VHS/Laserdisc.
