Definitely a good place to start. They all have their good stories, their classics. You should do a bit of research, find a story or era that piques your interest, and get a trade paperback to check it out. DC's New 52 was a decent attempt, though I wasn't the biggest fan of it, you could probably find some good Batman stories. The first arc in Justice League was pretty good, I thought. Had some fun exchanges between Batman and some of the other JLers.

Wolverine and Spider-Man have also had great stories. If I'm not mistaken, they both show up as members of the New Avengers. You could checkout that series, see what you think.
