You do know those roles were played by men right? "Shakespeare in love" is not a documentary. Of course I do, but the roles were women, just like the head of the country was a woman. And I agree, Shakespeare in Love was no documentary. Can't expect much realism from a Weinstein production.
He had Neve Campbell's father tucked away in a closet in Scream even though it defied common sense and physics. Perish the thought that she untie him to help her stop the two killers.

Nonsence, the roles were written for men, by men and had absolutely nothing to do with the life as a woman. It's like you think that if you write a role about a greek hero, cast a blond and blue eyed guy to play the part, it isn't whitewashing and is also a historical example of what greek men looked like.  Elisabeth I never married, do you know why that is?
