It was a typo... that 'lie' word was supposed to be 'like'. that should clear my statement up for you.

Yeah, that's kind of why I think he's one of those directors people like quite a bit or not all that much.
I think his general style is a bit weird which is not a good thing in my book especially as I got older (it worked better when I was much younger). but some people like that weirdness which might separate him from the pack for some people.

Burton has a tremendous sense of visual style and while it may be surreal, strange or weird, when he gets it right, he is sublime.
