Burton has a tremendous sense of visual style and while it may be surreal, strange or weird, when he gets it right, he is sublime.
I think his general style is a bit weird which is not a good thing in my book especially as I got older (it worked better when I was much younger). but some people like that weirdness which might separate him from the pack for some people.

His weirdness is just part of his package, but he has always been original and inventive. He has his own trademark and I like different and that is what I think many of his films incorporate in his themes.
