Why should we do the more traditional, historical thing?

Because while sports should evolve and tweak what isn’t working, they shouldn’t fundamentally change. The DH would be akin to the NFL allowing sacks to be made by two hand touch. Everybody else gets tackled, but these guys over here have different rules.
