Agreed.
problem is... there seems to be a thin line between those two (especially on sports) and one person might see arrogance while other might see confidence.
when it comes to professional basketball... Lebron James, who I refer to as 'king ego', pretty much takes the cake.
but stuff like that aside with sports etc... like on a everyday average person level, some people are just arrogant as you stumble into people like these here and there (I know some people who you can tell are more of that prideful/arrogant type but I typically avoid them as much as I can(although some are less than others)). like some people have too much pride etc where they NEVER admit they are wrong or they have that air about them like you can tell they have that overly competitive/arrogant thing about them where they kind of feel they are better than most people etc. I am sure you know what I mean as it's not too difficult to find people who are more inline with that than not. just some people ain't too friendly etc.
plus, some stuff people get offended over is related to some pride crap like if they like something and you don't, they almost take offense to it with that sorta of 'how dare you dis something I like' sort of thing. like it's kind of laughable if you ask me that they get mildly offended over stuff like that.
or some people say someone cooks something... and you say you don't care for it, they tend to take it too personally even though some types of food I simply don't care for no matter who cooks it. like if you had the best chef on the planet cooking it, I still would not like certain foods. but who knows, I guess no body wants to sort of look bad on some level as no one wants to be below average or worse even though obviously some people will be below average or worse in some areas as we all have our ups and downs.
or those types of people who always got to brag about what they got etc but if you even slightly casually mention something decent you got, not in a bragging sort of way, just a casual/natural conversation, it's like they don't want to hear it and just blow it off etc.
etc etc.
side note: but as one saying I heard which seems to be true... 'the more gifted a person is, the more they are tempted to pride. the less gifted a person is, they more they are tempted to envy'.
p.s. but I guess with that said... we all likely have some form of pride active in us(even if mildly), just some people are somewhat full of that crap
; they need a dose of humility from time-to-time
; o well, people will be people.
confidence? yes by all means.
arrogance? no.
arrogance? no.
