Puskas was the best player on the Hungary team that by all accounts should have won the 1954 World Cup but didn't - they lost to West Germany in the final. Yeah - The Miracle of Bern. There's quite a good German movie about that match (and the build up to it.) Hungary had beaten West Germany 8-3 in the group stages two weeks before the final! |
