Anyone saying that Disney getting FOX's IPs would create a monopoly don't realize that Comcast/Universal getting them would be the exact same thing...just not as competent. Can't say I agree with you. Comcast owns NBC and Universal already. But Disney owns Pixar, Marvel, LucasFilm, and ABC/ESPN! Disney getting Fox is much closer to constituting a monopoly than Comcast. Well, Pixar was originally a studio that broke away from Disney to begin with. No one cares that WB owns all of DC so Disney owning Marvel isn't a problem. The only addition here is Lucasfilm...and that ignores how Universal has the Universal Theme Parks, DreamWorks Animation...they're both pretty equal. |
