England jumps over Belgium now, doesn't look like they're going to take a goal. So, interesting match on Thursday, Belgium needs a win to get that first spot. England just needs a tie. I don't know if the battle for the #1 spot will be very intense. In the next round Belgium & England will have to play against Colombia, Japan, Poland or Senegal and none of them were really good in their first game. Belgium & England should both easily reach the quarter finals. Maybe it's even better to be #2 in the poule, because (assuming Russia, Spain, France, Croatia, Brazil & Mexico finish 1st in the poule) you don't need to play against Brazil, France, Germany & Argentina until the final. P.S. = Not that Argentina will actually reach the final.  |
