I decided I'm not gonna dislike TFA any longer:

Love TFA, sure it follows a new hope a little too closely but it re-established star wars wonderfully with a great cast and fun adventure. Only things I did not like were the cgi squid monster and the cgi Snoke. Bringing back the practical effects was great, really enjoyed its epic feel. It was a good launching point to do something grande and interesting in episode 8... unfortunately... episode 8 totally blew it, what a ridiculous film.. killed my enthusiasm for star wars for good
