How the turtle will make sense, I don't know. but I'm glad that some of the more psychic and other wordly elements will be included. The climax to the first one seemed a little to small scale and ordinary. You didn't get the sense of scope and history that it felt like it needed.
One scene I thought really felt like it was missing from the narrative was the sort of psychedelic vision in the 'smoke hole.' It would have needed a good deal more background and development since they never touched on the clubhouse or dam or anything, but it would have gone a long way to making Pennywise as formidable as he needed to be.
Knowing that they are also going to shoot some flashbacks with the kids, I really kind of hope that some of that building and bonding stuff by the water is going to be included now, too.
