There is something about this film, in which it would be considered too offensive to be released today. Or at least it wouldn't conform to the standards of movie making today. Huh? Female lead, nearly raped by a white male redneck. That's the kind of victim movie Hollywood loves now. Ya that's the scene I was thinking of when I said this movie couldn't be made today. But there's something specific about that scene that makes this movie not able to be made today. |
