Johnson is amused because he knows it's not going to happen. He's also bluffing. There's no way that he really "please, please, please... (wants) this to happen." It would be more of an embarrassment to him than the group trying to remake TLJ.

But even if this group (against all odds) lined up serious investors and amassed a $100 million dollar budget for production, Disney would never sign off on it. Disney would do everything within their power to block it.
