Yeah. No. It wasn't. It was a great year for music, TV shows and other genres of movies in my opinion and it was also a great year for independent comic books and 'Fathom' was the biggest selling comic book of 1997 but the comic book movies that were coming out that year were very disappointing. 'Spawn' should have been a lot better. It was one of the most popular comic book series when the movie came out and I remember a lot of people were looking forward to seeing it but it was watered down and awful and I think the failure of the movie also lead to the comic book series losing a lot of sales but the animated series was a lot better.
