Perlmutter is still with Marvel & his pennypinching probably messed up Ultron.
Ultron made $1.4 billion and has an 83% audience score on RT.
Solo made about a quarter of that and has a 65% score on RT.
There are degrees of messing up, and Solo was messed up far more than Ultron.
He thought no one would notice replacing Howard with Cheadle because they were both black actors.
No, he thought nobody would mind. And very few people did mind. Hell, I'd even go so far as to say a lot of people didn't notice.
If you dont trust Wikipedia on that, I have the original article bookmarked (Hollywood Reporter I believe).
They moved him over to the TV side.

I'm not really sure what point you're making here or what it's got to do with Solo. You seem to be arguing that a Marvel guy screwed up and got "moved", aka fired. Okay. Kennedy screwed up far bigger. She'll be "moved" too.
Why were Miller & Lord making the film?
I understand they were going for GotG.
How does THAT fit Star Wars?
In January 2017, Lord and Miller began directing the then-untitled film Solo: A Star Wars Story, a standalone Star Wars movie based on the Han Solo character. They were unwilling to compromise with Lucasfilm and writer Lawrence Kasdan on the direction of the film, preferring their vision
How does THAT fit Star Wars?
It doesn't. Which is the point - those were Kennedy's decisions. She chose the directors. She let them spend a hundred million or more. Then she canned them and hired somebody else to spend another hundred million to reshoot almost the entire film. And still wound up with a movie people flocked to avoid. If you really think "Well they changed an actor but still made 1.4 billion dollars" compares with that then you're being foolish.
Look at Marvel. They have fired lots of directors.
They still have a $17 billion worldwide franchise.
They still have a $17 billion worldwide franchise.
And because the Marvel people know better than to attack their own fanbase for complaining about the flaws in their movies. You know, the tactic that worked so very well for the Ghostbusters mess.
Like it or not, Kennedy has stuffed this up.
