You think JL failed over a switched director?Whedon was too little too late.
Bats is obsessed with killing Supes, then next movie says we need to bring him back?
I went to JL in the theater
I have the steel book blue ray.
I am a Thor fangirl. A Captain America fangirl.
But i remember Kal-El & Kara from my childhood as well.
I LOVE Supergirl. They got Kara & Kal-El right.
So yeah, last Jedi sucked for laying waste to everything Abrams set up, but I CAN SEE Luke ending up a hermit, disillusioned.
All you fools who didnt bother with Solo deprived yourself of an excellent movie.
We see Han, street kid but still in his way as innocent & hopeful as Luke in the course of the movie het betrayed again & again. He's not the Han we know in New Hope yet, but he is on his way
And Luke took his own journey to become disillusioned like Han in New Hope by the time we see him again in TFA.
But what some of you Luke fanboys also miss is a line in Solo where Qi'ra informs Han he isn't the outlaw he fancies himself. He is a good guy. The good guy that resurfaces in New Hope to save Luke.
Think about it.
They ended the Emperor.
Rebuilding the universe shouldnt have been that hard...
Yet we have the First Order taking over.
It's like the flower children of the 60s were going to end war forever.
Do you see where Luke is now in TLJ?
Youth & optimism gone.
No other Jedi to offer support.
Obviously teaching padawans isnt as easy as it looks.
Obi-wan failed with Anakin.
And again...
Star Wars fans are the worst fandom, isnt it?
You all whine Solo comes out 6 months after TLJ-TOO SOON!
Marvel put out Black Panther in February, Avengers in April, & Ant-man this Friday.
THREE FILMS.
what's wrong with you guys?
Can't keep up?
YOU CAN'T REPLACE HARRISON FORD!!!
Meanwhile Marvel quietly plugs in Mark Ruffalo to replace Ed Norton as Bruce Banner & isn't Ferrigno done as the voice of Hulk? Hasn't it been Ruffalo since Ragnarok?
Terrance Howard replaced by Don Cheadle as Rhodey. Not a peep from the fanboys.
Zachary Levi replaced Joshua Dallas as Fandral in Dark Work. No problem.
So why is it ok when Marvel does it, but the Star Wars fanboys have a cow over every little thing?
I have loved Thor & Cap since 1965. I have loved Star Wars since 1977.
Hell, I remember having a Star Trek Phaser when I was 7 or 8 so around 1967.(shot little round plastic disks)
No, I was saying that people just went through a similar situation where there was a director switch at the end of filming a movie. People would associate that to another movie. And no matter what was in the movie they will blame the director switch.
I think people see that you can't bring in a new Han because he's that guy from their childhood and he still was Han in EP7. I think if they recast the character between 4 and 5, people wouldn't be up in arms. You see people trying to fan cast imitations. They look for images of Christopher Reeve in other actors playing Superman because they always want Reeve as Superman. The Marvel movies are still new. And we've gotten to the point where actors are switched out regularly now, but classics are your childhood. That's why people say the stupid "[person] raped my childhood."
I've always been at liking the character, not the actor playing the role.
Because I loved Star Trek as a child, I cant love Chris Pine as Kirk?
Because I loved Dark Shadows as a child so much my child is named after a character, I couldnt enjoy the movie in the light of a parallel world which DS played with when it aired?
Because I loved David McCallum as Illya Kuryakin, I had to hate Armie Hammer as Illya?
Because I saw Superman with Christopher Reeve, I had to hate Dean Cain in Lois & Clark? Tom Welling in Smallville? Henry Cavill in DCEU?
I LOVED Lois & Clark. Watched Smallville for 5 seasons. I LOVE Cavill as Supes & hate Snyder for trying to make Kal-El Bruce Wayne.
No one can rape your childhood memories. They are your memories.
This set of fans are horrid.
Its only a small group. Its not the whole fandom. Just like a quarter or a third.
Ok.
I changed my mind.
If I found out Captain Kangaroo was a child molester I might be sad...but it doesnt change my state of innocence & the enjoyment i got from that show. It would be just a nasty footnote.
