*It can't fail. The money exists to claim it was a huge success whether it was or not. They may be worried that oversaturation of the brand will mean less box office for IX. This could be the reason they pull the plug on stand alone films. But I think it is all smoke and mirrors. Like CNN staying on air despite no one watching it, Disney can keep churning out whatever it wants. It has the coin to stay in business.
