I thought maybe they’re admitting that the dinos of the franchise were never accurate. For example, Velociraptors are now thought to be covered in feathers. Jurassic World emphasised the fact that all of the dinos that were recreated since Jurassic Park were hybrids. So the emphasis on hybridisation is a defence of the entire franchise from criticisms that may come from updates on new information about dinosaurs.
