We won't be able to seriously tell how good he is until we're in a tournament, unless of course we fail to qualify, in which case he's obviously shite, but that doesn't look like happening.
I like that he's been flexible enough to give someone like Defoe a chance, and has tried a new formation as he did against Germany. If he can look like he has something of a clue at the World Cup and the squad demonstrates a sense of team spirit and understanding of what they're supposed to do on the pitch, then we've made progress.
