Particularly considering this started out a puppy love in the books. It was to show his devotion to the Goddess of Death. To make her love him

It isnt just people.
Its half of all living things
Animals as well meaning if there were 5 white rhinos, there would be 2 or 3 left.
Service animals.etc.

He claimed more resources but plants are living. Did he just wipe out half the plants?
If not, why did we lose Groot?
