Undisputably the best since McGrath. Look at Steyn's stats line and it belongs in the 80s with Imran, Marshall and Lillee, not in the highscoring 00s and Tweens. He did have real quality support in Pollock, Philander, nTini and Morkel, but his figures stack up in any era. Interesting to remember that Salter and I agreed that pre-2000 Pollock was on par with McGrath. But yeah, I agree with you guys that Steyn is overall the best fast bowler of this millennium even though Anderson ever since his revival has looked good seaming conditions and Johnson looked nearly unplayable for a small period. Stark had potential but he hasn't been in the picture lately. |
