What is the point of marriage?

It's pointless! Would the majority of people even marry each other is sex wasn't a part of the equation and that goes for both opposite and same sex unions?

It's an outdated and archaic social construct that serves a purpose for fiscal means only and to some extent keep the herd in line for some strange sense of normality. Who wants to be bullshit legally bound to someone? People can live together without having some phony or abstract institution tell them they are legitimate in their relationship because of a piece of paper that is certified by some self-righteous and self-important twat.
