I call bullshit on this entire story. First off, if he "sits out" as opposed to being injured, he could forfeit his salary, which is north of $17m. Thereafter, according to the CBA, the league could force him to stay with Toronto to fulfill his contract, preventing him from hitting free agency unless Toronto agrees to release him.
Total muckraking job by Yahoo here. Why on earth would a guy who missed almost all of last year not want to prove he's healthy heading into free agency?
