No, It's all a hoax...
Michael Collins actually "sat" inside the Command Service Module.
However, that too might have been a hoax...
I think he just floated around inside the Command Service Module.
Too much conspiracy!
I do wonder how many astronauts hated being assigned to pilot the Command Service Module, knowing that they would not be walking on the moon, while knowing that their buddies would.
