In the general public, most have hated Polanski for decades, but didn't it take Weinstein and Cosby to get him kicked out of the Academy? They all stood up and applauded him when he got an Oscar, even knowing he drugged and raped a young girl. As far as I'm concerned they're all scumbabs, regardless if Cosby and Weinstein kicked him out (assuming that is true and if it is holyshit the irony!) Fucking Tarantino even defended Polanski at one point, claiming that she wasn't raped, she wanted it. Honestly I really want Hollywood to burn. Oh I stated that funky. I meant when Typhoon Cosby and Weinstein finally crashed the Academy finally ousted Polanski too. Now I can to a point separate Art from the Artist, but fuck defending the artists actions. Like I will still be able to watch Usual Suspects with 1 admitted sexual assaulter (Spacey) and 1 accused sexual assaulter (Singer). I will be able to still say it's a good film, but I couldn't defend the peoples actions. I can't support their continued creation. (especially the admitted one). I hate that we have to make these calls now, but it's worse that I've supported people that could do this. And not to make it about us because their victims should be the focus not on whether the a Victimizer taints a movie or not. |
