It's been in limbo hell for a few years. Michael Flanagan made some updates about the film's plot being a completely different take (no Fisherman, no hook, etc.) But ultimately nothing. I've never read it, but I'd heard that the novel is much more serious and emotional and has to do with the writer's own experience of a murderered family member. Maybe it will go for that angle and come off as less silly. Not that we need it in any way, and not that I have any knowledge of how the book is supposedly better, but I do like Mike Flanagan. |
