James Gunn director of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies was fired from Disney/Marvel Studios because several years ago he tweeted some horrible jokes about pedophilia and rape. Was that a dumb move on his part? Of course! Should he have been fired for several years old tweets of bad jokes? IMO I say no, but you decide for yourself.
Apparently this all started because a man by the name of Mike Cernovich didn't like Gunn making jokes about Trump and the right. So he started a movement to witch hunt Gunn, the result of which was unearthing the tweets. Disney followed suit by firing Gunn.
So in short Disney did what this guy wanted done. But this guy aint no saint himself AND it turns out he's quite the nut job besides.
