that they players were juiced. people loved it back then. i was a kid, but i remember my dad was glued to the TV to see mcquires 62nd home run. so, were the fans back then that loved the chase aware of steroids? were they in denial? or were they just ignorant? I didn't know. I "grew up" loving the A's with Ricky Henderson and the Bash brothers, et al (well I was too young to really remember them, but they were my first favourites) and was devastated when I realized they definitely had juiced. The substance that was found/seen in McGwire's workout/equipment/whatever bag was androstenedione. It was a substance that was prescription only here, but was available over the counter in most (possibly all) states. |
