You should definitely check out the 'Puppet Master' movies James. They are awesome. Puppet Master 3, 4 and 5 are by far the best when the Puppets turned good.

The puppets are sympathetic even in the first film. They adopt the manner of whomever is controlling them but they seem to have some thoughts of their own.

I always really loved the various designs of the puppets themselves.
