It won't happen. But does it need to? I'm fine with the way the MCU is. Would I like a few more movies in the MCU to completely ditch the jokes and aim for a higher form of cinematic greatness? Yes! But I enjoy them as they are, and movies like Black Panther and Civil War show that they do elevate some of their movies beyond the level of fun popcorn flicks. charzhino 's idea for an Iron Man movie (above) sounds exactly like what I hoped IM3 would be. Which is one of the reasons I despise that movie so much. It was the perfect oppertunity to create a real character piece for Stark, but instead it became a two hour joke. A missed opertunity there. But as others have said, The Dark Knight is an all time great movie. It's a true cinematic gem. Fact is, movies like that are extremely rare... Forget the comic book genre. You don't see films as good as TDK in ANY genre very often! Besides... How many characters other than Batman lend themselves to that sort of adaptation? Not many. Some characters are actually better with a bit more campiness and fun. Man of Steel is case in point there. They tried for a Nolan style adaptation and it failed horribly. One last point: The classic comic book film I want the MCU to learn from is not TDK but Spiderman 2. That's the kind of greatness I want from Marvel characters!
