Under what merits has The Dark Knight been topped or hasn't yet by the MCU?

The Dark Knight is an excellent movie, in and of itself, but it’s not much of a superhero movie. None of the other DC superheroes could even exist in a cinematic world with the Batman ... without it being completely cringeworthy. A lesson the DCEU has learned the hard way. Twice.

The MCU makes true superhero movies. Nolan avoided it. The DCEU has failed miserably at it.
