Planning on watching the Mission Impossible movies for the first time

I agree, this is a rare care of a movie series getting better with each new film. Didn't really care about the first two but part 3 was ok while Ghost Protocol and Rogue Nation were both about equally good.

The problem is that M:I films are all gimmicks and action and no heart or characters, so they get kind of mechanical after a while. Ethan Hunt is the only character I remember by name and even he isn't interesting.
