But, the depths of the ocean are dark and murky. The brighter tone set by Wan underscores a more fantasy tone than one rooted in science fiction. There's nothing wrong with that of course; it's a stylistic choice. I was just hoping for something a bit more credible and less fantastic. To us it is, but not to a person that is from there. Like the video footage of him in the murky water is right because it's not from his point of view. Author looks fairly impressed by the city himself in a later segment in the trailer. I can only assume that was the first time he was seeing it?
